Self-esteem Therapy in Mississauga

Self-esteem is critical for our mental well-being. In other words, how we view ourselves directly impacts how we experience our relationships and how we perceive the world around us. Over the past 20 years we have been helping clients see themselves differently and feel good about who they are; we help clients access the parts of themselves they have minimized or dismissed and connect with their positive self again. We help our clients break the patterns that have contributed to a negative view of self, and through psychotherapy sessions, clients will build a new, more positive view of self that will enable them to set clear and healthy boundaries in their life.

What is Self-Esteem Therapy and Counselling?

We know one of the most important factors for success in therapy is your relationship with your psychotherapist. We provide free consultations to ensure you feel comfortable right away, and if for some reason you don’t feel connected, we have another member of the team waiting to have a consultation with you.

Self-Esteem therapy is designed to help you understand that how we view ourselves often stems from patterns in your life. Your therapist will help you understand why you feel the way you do about yourself, how and when this view started, and how to see yourself truthfully. Through the counselling process you will learn how to change how you view yourself; you will learn to see your worth and how you can communicate that to the world.

When and Why to Seek Treatment?

If self-esteem keeps you stuck in patterns of low mood, have trouble saying no, anxious thoughts, or relationship dissatisfaction then seeking treatment is important. Self-Esteem can present itself in many ways, for example, symptoms of depression and anxiety, feeling taken advantage of in your relationships, or even at work. When possible, it is important to seek treatment as early as possible to prevent a negative view of yourself becoming entrenched in your life. But, if it has, it is not too late, treatment can make a big difference in your life.

Our Location

We are located at 4291 Village Centre Court. We are located east of Hurontario, south of the 403. You will find our office community to be lovely and calming. Due to the nature of the architecture, our office is not wheelchair accessible.

Is therapy confidential?

Absolutely. Psychotherapy is built on the foundation of confidentiality. As professionals, it is our responsibility to ensure that we do everything we can reasonably do to ensure your anonymity. If you choose virtual sessions, be assured that we only use the professional version of Zoom which has professional level security.

How long does therapy take?

In the same way that it has taken time to develop patterns that don’t work, it takes time to break these patterns and create new ones. But many clients start to feel better after the first session. Clients can expect to can new insights, identify their patterns and interrupt them after 4-6 sessions. We do not believe in quick fixes since quick fixes never last, in the same way a crash diet is only temporary. We believe that changing one’s patterns has the potential for creating generational change, so doing the hard emotional and behavioural work pays off over time.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Every member of our team offers virtual sessions, so no matter which day of the week works for you, one of our team members will be available for you.

Book with one of our highly skilled therapists and we will help you break these anxious patterns for good.
